CREASE ("the app", "we") is a paper-folding puzzle game. This policy explains what data the app collects and why.

Account & identity

When you first open CREASE, we create an anonymous account for you automatically so your progress can be saved — no personal information is required to play. If you choose to link that account to Sign in with Google (Android) or Sign in with Apple (iOS), we associate your existing anonymous progress with that sign-in method, and receive the account identifier and email address that provider returns. We never see your Apple or Google password — authentication is handled entirely by Apple and Google.

You'll also be asked to choose a username, shown to identify your account within the app. Choose something that does not include personal information.

Gameplay data

We store, per account: your chosen username, which levels you've solved and how (folds used, hints used, time taken), and how many hints you've used today. This is stored in Google Firestore, a cloud database, tied to your account id, so your progress can follow you across devices once linked.

Advertising

CREASE shows ads via Google AdMob (banner, interstitial, and optional rewarded ads for bonus hints). AdMob may collect device identifiers and use them to serve and measure ads. On iOS, CREASE does not ask for permission to track you and does not access the advertising identifier (IDFA), so ads there are not personalised using it. On Android, AdMob may use the advertising ID, which you can reset or opt out of personalisation for in your device settings. See Google's Privacy Policy for how AdMob handles data.

Crash & diagnostics data

We use Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics to understand crashes and general app usage. This data is aggregated and used to improve stability and gameplay, not to identify you personally.

Data retention & deletion

Your account data is retained for as long as your account exists. To request deletion of your account and associated data, email appdevad@icloud.com with your in-app username.

Children

CREASE is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
